A note from Gönenç
I started as a developer, building SharePoint workflows and .NET backends for companies whose processes I had to understand before I could automate them. That habit stayed with me. I want to see the work itself before I decide what the software should do.
I co-founded and ran a software company for more than eight years, writing quotes and contracts as well as code. Then I spent three years leading product and software development inside a large cooperative group, with teams to build, a board to answer to and many companies to align.
On paper these roles look different, but the job underneath was the same: turn an unclear operational problem into a decision, and the decision into a system people actually use. That is why I keep leadership, advisory work and my own products side by side. Each one keeps the others honest.
I am not employed at the moment. I am studying for an Executive MBA at Boğaziçi and building my own products. If you are considering a leadership role, have a problem that needs a second opinion, or a product that needs shape, I would be glad to hear about it.
